Today we did a presentation about ageing society, and I learnt lots of things from our survey and research. First of all, through our research we found that Japan is in the forefront nation of population ageing, actually the ranking of declining birthrate is in the 1st place. We are the generation who need to confront with these problems, but we cannot make a big action to change a whole social system. However, I really hope that Japan will offer social wellfare more. In reality, Japan has a problem of lacking of nursery school, but in this generation, family both men and women work full time is increasing, so I think we definitely need more nursery schools and government should offer parents more choices with regard to the relationship between employment and childbirth and child raising.

In our survey, we asked a question that when they would like to get married and we found that most common answer by men was 28 years old and the most common answer by women was 25 years old. And I thought overall from our research, both men and women think positively about marriage and they are also willing to having children but they just couldn’t because they just don’t have enough money or they are quite busy to work especially when they are 20s. If company do some actions for employers to be easy to balance between work and family, that would be really great.
