Amy Chua is called “Tiger Mother,” and her education method has advantages and disadvantages. The advantage is that children are guaranteed a successful life. Her children must continue to study and take violin lessons until they meet the conditions allowed by her. In other words, her children keep trying day and night. As a result, her children can acquire abilities that are better than ordinary people. Then, there is no doubt that they will be able to go to excellent school, get jobs, and live a rich life. On the other hand, the disadvantage is that children cannot develop them relationships very well. Amy Chua banned her children from playing, staying overnight with their friends and playing games, because they run out of time to study and take lessons. However, I think they are necessary experiences for building relationships in society. Additionally, as her second daughter strongly resisted, forcing parents’ educational policies on their children can lead to poor relationships between parents and their children. In my opinion, parents should educate their children to study and take lessons on their own initiative. If parents support their children’s areas of interest, they will be able to keep their motivation and broaden their view of the world. Then, it would naturally lead to their rich lives. I cannot say that Tiger Mother’s education method is completely bad. Parents need to think about what kind of education is most appropriate for their children.
