I’ll write about “Quartette” which is TV drama written by Yuji Sakamoto.

His script often include unique and fascinating phrases. I’m going to introduce some examples in the drama.

1 .　”There are three slopes in our life. NOBORIZAKA, KUDARIZAKA, and MASAKA.” MASAKA means that unbelievable things happen.

２． “Can you wash deep-fried-chicken? Dropping lemon juice is irreversible thing. You must talk to people “there is a lemon.” That is because When we talk to them “May I drop the lemon juice to deep-fried-chickens?”, we cannot help to answer “Yes, you can.”

３． “Music is like the hole of doughnnut. Only people who have lacking points can play true music.”

How do you think to read these words? Like that, there are many misterious and interesting points in the drama.

Telling you the outline, four instrument player (Maki Maki, Suzume Sebuki, Yutaka Iemori and Tsukasa Beppu) happen to see at a caraoke box, Then They decide to organize quartette which name is “Quartette Doughnut Hole” and to live together in Karuizawa. In their house, many misterious romance will be happen.

All characters are unique!

Maki Maki is a 1st vaiolinist. She has no confidence so her voice is very little. She is only married person in the quartette. She sometimes do  curious things which surprise everyone.

Suzume Sebuki is a cellist. Her appearance is very natural, but so cute. She always live in her own way. She like to sleep very much! She has charming and cheerful side,too.

Yutaka Iemori is a violist. His job is an assistant of beauticians. He is argumentive person. Above “Dropping lemon juice is irreversible” phrase is said by him. He is popular with women, but he is often lost interest by women, soon.

Tukasa Beppu is a 2nd vaiolinist. He is working at doughnut shop. He has never been angry in his life. So he long for selfish or crazy person. He is very calm and ordinary.

The drama’s catch phrase is “Everyone tells a lie, everyone does unrequited love.”There are a lot of lies. For example, the set up that their encounter was accident is one of their lies. In addition,  Maki loves Yutaka, Yutaka loves Suzume, Suzume loves Tukasa, Tukasa loves Maki, though Maki has been married.

I think the drama’s best charms are the point that we can enjoy to anticipate next scene and to find beautiful words like phrases I introduced above.

In addition, the theme song which name is “Otona No Okite” made by Ringo Shiina and sung by “Quartette Doughnut Hole” is so amorous and fascinting! The song’s words link with contents and atmospher of the drama.
