Last month, I went to see the Kabuki.  It is called “Takizawa Kabuki 2018”.  Mr. Takizawa who is a Japanese idle gives performances every year.  His Kabuki was different from what I imagined.  It was mainly singing and dancing.  It also used modern technology such as projection mapping.  I was very surprised, but it was so interesting.  I wanted to research about Kabuki.  In this blog, I will introduce about it easily.

Kabuki is the Japanese traditional culture.  It is on the list of Intangible Cultural Heritafes.  In 1063, Izumo no Okuni started “Kabuki Odori” in Kyoto.  After then, Kabuki Odori changed “Onna Kabuki”, “Wakasyu Kabuki”, “Yaro Kabuki” and ” Onnagata”.  These kinds of Kabuki formed the basis of present Kabuki.  Recently, Kabuki becomes new styles like Takizawa Kabuki.  Kabuki has evolved by adopting new styles and ideas.

Kabuki consists of three elements.  First is music.  Kabuki’s music developed with shamisen and we divide it into two groups.  One is Utaimono which is only songs and the other is Katarimono which is songs and lines.  Second is dancing.  There are many kinds of Kabuki’s dance.  All of them are beautiful.  Third is acting.  Characteristic of Kabuki’s acting is that actors exaggerate feelings and pursue a beauty.  Kabuki is comprehensive art by these elements.

Kabuki is very interesting.  You should see it and feel Japanese traditional culture.  You can spend exciting time and know about Japan.
