Directed by Roger Donaldson ,this movie was released in the United States in 2001. This movie describes the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962 and a sequence of decision-making of American political leadership dramatically.

Although this movie does not include scenes of dynamic actions or happy/sad ending, it is capable to impress people from two points mainly. Firstly, most of scenes are aimed on one or several persons, so it is easy for us to get performers’ expression. Therefore, we are able to learn how serious and tensed the situation at that time was. Secondly, this movie makes use of some historical scenes such as those of nuclear experiments which had been taken before the movie was directed. It plausibly tells us that the Cuban Missile Crisis did exist as a historical matter.

A lot of movies these days, especially Hollywood ones, tend to persist more exciting, touching or dynamic scenes to make the movie more attractive. Meanwhile, ’13 days’ suggests alternative ways to attract people which I wrote down above.
