The man who killed two children in 1997 in Kobe was reported by the media as “Boy A” wrote his own controversial autobiography about the murders. The book was published by Ohta Publishing. The company said that the publishing of the autobiography would provide a chance to let people know about the criminal. The royalties for sales of the book will be paid to the author. The father whose son was killed by “boy A” naturally opposes the publication of the book.

I think it’s a human being’s freedom to write an autobiography about the crime he or she committed. However, the decision for publishing the books might not be an appropriate idea. The news reported that the autobiography describes the two murders vividly. The idea of to know what a criminal’s thinking is an interesting issue but it would absolutely give a great damage to the victim’s family. What’s more, I think it’s not good to make the royalties for sales become the profit to “boy A”. Since there were 100,000 books be published, “boy A” is supposed to earn 15,000,000 yen by the autobiography, or to say, by the crime he committed. The people who buy the book in some ways have a meaning of they support “boy A”. It might be better to just release the autobiography on the Internet without it be published.

I agree with you and I believe that there is no problem to write an autobiography about the crime which he did before. It is because, we have the freedom of expressions. On the other hand, I must admit that we have to improve our moral, Or we might hurt someone.
