The new highly extensive study published last month found that 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic weighing some 269.00 tons have floated the oceans. The advanced computer models confirms that the plastic has expanded dispersed to a greater degree than previously believed. the garbage is smashed by wave action and once the plastic is shredded into pieces as small as grain of sand, it can spread widely. The smallest poisonous plastic is taken into microorganism. After absorbing the toxic substances, the organism pass them to predators higher in the food chain. And finaly they reach to human bbody at increasingly concentrated.

I think the pollution of the ocean is also current big problem. Because ocean doesn’t have any border, once the garbage throwing away, it can spread all over the world easily and we can’t help stop it.

In 1953, in Kumamoto perfecture, many people injured neuropathy by mercury. This incident was occured by waste water of factory. The sea organism absorbed mercury and the reached to human body finaly. This is called “Minamata disease”.

The patient’s hand

I’m afraid of occuring this “Minamata disease” again all over the world. So I think it is important for us to solve this issue sa soon as possible by corporating each countries such as controlling illegal dumping to the sea.
