I watched the TV show “ATASHIn’ CHI”. The title means my home. The author is Hara Keiko. Main character is Tachibana’s family, Okasan, Otosan, a daughter Mikan and a son Yuzuhiko. The character in this anime is focusing on not special things. Usually, many animes are set in fantasy lands or hero or heroine can use magic. However, in this anime, there are not special things.  For examples, one episode focuses on going to a local mochi pounding event on New Year’s Day. A mother is excited about pounding rice cakes, and her son Yuzuhiko is embarrassed to see it.　I think that by using such an everyday theme, it will have the effect of making viewers feel closer to the subject matter.

Moreover, watching this anime makes us know traditional roles in family. Okasan is a housewife and always do many things for family without working outside. There are no friends who work too.  When they go lunch, they always are dismissed before their family come home. Otosan is a salaryman. He is very quiet but bossy husband. He behaves as if he takes Okasan devoting to family for granted. Their children go to schools and play with friends, which is ordinally as children.
