This documentary is about how media influences children’s lives and brains, especially to women.  The video says because of the spread of digital devices now children are exposed to a variety of media including social network services and video platforms. This means that media impacts children’s lives and brains 24 hours a week.

The documentary points out how female children react to prototypes of girls or women made by the media.  There is a lot of content that provokes women to become more beautiful, such as videos for make-up tips, hairdressing, and how to make teeth more white and bright. I think such kind of content heightens the standards of women’s beauty. Children exposed to media may form low self-esteem because they may think I am not beautiful and do not have a thin body like the model on the TV.

According to the documentary, 65% of women in the U.S. have an eating disorder and many teenagers are suffering from self-objectification and self-disgusting because of the SNS. This proves SNS has impacted women’s live in reality. In my opinion, there are some methods that were discussed to solve a such social problem, and lawful regulation is one of those. However, I think forming a common perception that female on TV is not standard and you do not have to be like them is important to society.
