This film made famous Jean-Luc Godard, one of the most successful directors of the Nouvelle Vague. It also made the still unknown Jean-Paul Belmondo famous. The original story was made by François Truffaut and Claude Chabrol participated as a technical advisor. This work is one of the works that symbolize Nouvelle Vague because they are the people who created the era of Nouvelle Vague side by side with Jean-Luc Godard. The great thing about this movie is the novelty of the cut and the heroine. Most movies today use the technique of cutting cuts for each scene and Godard was the pioneer of this technique. By dividing the cuts into small pieces, the video is light and rhythmic and we are not tired of it. The heroine image that was popular at the time was a woman with long hair and a long skirt but what appeared in this work was a short cut and pants style. This movie shocks the audience in many ways and it is a work that even we can enjoy a novel and fresh feeling today. The story is like this. The main character, a man who falls in love with an American woman, who is rare in Paris, kills a police officer and escapes in Paris. He is seduced by the woman, and eventually reported to the woman and dies.
