This movie is about the historic economic crisis, Lehman shock. You may heard about its name but I think there are many people who do not really understand what happend at the moment. Then The Big Short is the perfect movie to learn how the shock occured, not only to know the main factors but also social atmosphere in late 2000s.

The messeage this movie want to tell is, in my opinion, ‘there are opportunities even during a terrible situation, if you understand more than others.’ The main story of this movie is actually about the people who earn the enourmous amount of money during Lehman shock.

I think this movie is like a sour apple. When you watch this movie, you will feel the story is entertaining. However, when you remind that this movie is based on real story which happend only 15 to 13 years before from now, you will feel sourness.

In conclusion, there are 2 messages you can learn from the movie. First, in complex modern international economy, there is always a way to earn money even in horribly bad situation. Secondly, there is always a dark side in modern economy. This does not necessarily mean that when you earn money, the money is always from others, but it actually is sometimes.
