Social groups called socialization agents decides How children learn to behave. The family affects their children mostly because children live for a ling time with their parents. There are two important ways of teaching children how to behave appropriately. First one is Sanction, which means a course of action that can be used, if necessary to make people behave in a particular way. Children can learn how to behave politely whether they receive rewards or punishments. Second one is Modeling. This means that children learn how to behave by watching other people and copying the behavior of them. In my opinion, it is bad for parents to restrict behaviors of their children too much. Children always act so that they are not scolded by their children. As a result, children cannot do what they really want to do. For example, even if children who are in elementary school really play soccer with their friends after school, they study hard all day because their parents who think studying is the most important thing scold them. Moreover, children do what they cannot do in their childhood after they become independent of their parents. For instance, if children are not allowed to eat snacks such as Potato chips, they will eat them too much after they live alone, so that they become overweight in the future. In conclusion, I think that parents’ restriction of their children’s activities affects their children badly.
