This is a biographical film made in Germany. The scene of the story is early 1900s in Denmark. The movie depicts Transgender who is very rare and be considered as so curious in the era than now. In the movie, world-first sex-change operation is described.

The main character of the movie is a man named Lily who is a Transgender. He has suppressed his discomfort of sex cognition since he was a young child, and he has wife named Geina. However, one day, trivial incident recalls his mind female spirit. When Lily wears male outfit, he is attacked by heavy headache because of discomfort of sex. Therefore, the time he wears like female and act as female is gradually increased. Geina supports him warmly, but one day, her mind reaches a limit, and she tells “Please give back my wonderful husband! I want you to only pretend as male!” to Lily. Ultimately, they clear such high hurdles, they reach the day of sex-change operation. Geina loved and supported Lily until his last day.

It seemed that I had overlapped with Lily who took pains by estrangement between ideal and reality, so I cried many times during watching the movie.
