According to Asahi Newspaper, a team from UK published that flat-faced dogs, such as Chow Chow and Bulldogs, are likely to get heatstroke more than other breeds. Also, shapes of their faces are more prone to suffer heat exhaustion than to being overweight. This team analyzed 390 dogs diagnosed with heatstroke and found that many of them were dogs with short and flat faces. Then, there are reports that these breeds have problems with regulation of body temperature. In addition, heavier dogs and older dogs are at higher risk to get it than others.
