On April 20th, 1999, Sue Klebold’s son, Dylan Klebold killed twelve students, and a teacher with a gun, wounded over twenty people, and eventually committed suicide with his friend at Columbia High School. The viciousness of his actions have given his mother grief and appalling agony. After his attack, she developed breast cancer, had mental health problems, and panic attacks, experienced a malfunctioning mind, and became terrified by everything that surrounded her. Though, she took long time to accept her son’s failure, she didn’t stop researching what he had thought about himself up until right before he committed suicide.

She thinks that there was plenty of time for her to help her son with his mental health, or distorted thoughts that should have been treated. Nevertheless, she says that we cannot control every single one we love, because if love is enough, we could have eradicated suicides from the world. In my opinion, when we have a voice, or action to share with others, we have to stop and make sure our voice or actions are appropriate, and not an annoyance for them. Sometimes I do too much, and am pushy, even though it seems to be good to do something. It is important that we have to recognize there are people who are suffering from something, and take the time to listen without accosting them with our opinions.
