This movie drew the character’s way of life. He tries to get out poor situation for loving wife and children. He opend the circus which is consists of people who are in a position of disapproval because of physically or racially. In the first half, BGM is cheerful and ryhthmical, but in the second half, BGM is darkness and serious. Burnham who is the main charactor in this movie thinks “Everyone is different, everyone is special”, but the mass communication and the racists don’t think so. They criticize this circus as an unpleasant show. This movie has two big themes. First, “Confront Discrimination to Bias”. At the present time, a hate speech is increasing in United States of America, so this movie represents messages against that. Second, “Light and Darkness of Human heart. Burnham successed to get out poor situation, but he came to abandon circus’s member in order to start a new business. This represents human’s darkness, in other words, human’s greed. This movie’s good point is that draw this movie as musical review, so the rhythm and dynamism attract audience. Also, performers sings very well, so audience attract it. This movie was almost consisted of wide scene, I think it’s technic in order to have audience feel presence as if we were in circus venue.This movie gives us laughs and moved us. Please see it.
