I want to talk about “Freaconomics”. Do you know Freaconomics? It was written by Steven David Levitt. He is a economist. This book is written unusual economic. For example, the reason of decreasing crime rate in United States in 1990 and an parents of students who can be good at studying. This book was made into a movie. I want to talk about the reason of decreasing crime rate in this blog.

In 1990, the number of crimes in United States was one million and nine hundred thousand. It is the most bigger number in United States. However, it decreased to one million and four handred thousand in around 1999. Why did it decrease a lot? It because there is not a ban of abortion in United States. In the early 1900’s, an authoritarian regime in Europe banned abortion. Family must have a lot of children. So, there were a lot of children who were dumped by their family. When they grow up, they began to commit a crime. United States was affected by this. So, there were a lot of crimes. However, American politicians decided to abolish a ban of abortion. So, a crime rate decreased from 1990’s.
