Requiem for the American Dream was released on April 18th, 2015. Noam Chomsky, who is a linguist in America, discusses and analyzes the development of American society and economy in the 20th and 21st centuries in this movie. From the beginning he talks about the current status of the American dream.

He says rich people in America are masters of mankind, and only they have much money  compared with other ordinary citizens. Also, large companies have strong connections with politicians and finance a lot of money to them. Therefore, politicians are promoting only policies that would benefit them. This greatly disturbs realization of democracy reflecting the opinions of citizens.

The one point that Noam wants to insist is that American dream is almost over because wealth distribution is not working well and rich people and large companies dominate the majority of wealth. In the last, he says that we are not smart enough to make an exquisitely balanced society, and what we can do is to talk about how to proceed. This means the small actions of each person will change the future.

Even in the country of liberty, which has democracy, the gap between rich people and poor people is expanding. This wealth distribution issue happen not only in the U.S. but also many other countries. I realized that we, who will bear the future of the world, should consider the countermeasures. To consider it, I decided to start to learn economics and politics.
