Boyhood is a 2014 American drama filmed from 2002 to 2013 directed by Richard Linklater, and the same starring for whole the shooting, Patricia Arquette, Ellar Coltrane, Lorelei Linklater the director’s daughter, and Ethan Hawke. This movie was nominated for 5 Golden Globe Awards, winning Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Director, and Best Supporting Actress for Arquette. It was nominated for 5 BAFTA awards, winning for Best Director and Best Film. Moreover, it was also nominated for 6 Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director,Best Supporting Actor for Hawke and Best Supporting Actress for Arquette, which she won.

The movie is taken more than 10 years, started to film in 2002, and finished in 2013, and released in 2014. This is because to describe a family relation ship changing as the children growing up. So the characters are getting older in real life.

However, in the movie, there is no explanation when the scene is. The characters are growing, and time goes by before I knew.

The plot was written as the shooting going on. So no one knew the whole story when the filming started.

When you watched this movie, you can feel 12years in only 2hours 45minutes. I’ ve never seen such impressing movie before.
