(500) Days of Summer is a 2009 American romantic comedy-drama film.

The film was released at the 25th Sundance Film Festival. It was a big success and received a standing ovation from crowds. It received many awards. This is also popular in Japan, especially by younger generation.

Marc Webb the director of this movie made many music videos, but was his first time as a movie director. He made so many famous music videos.

The story is nothing special, an ordinary man falls in love with a charming girl, but the camera works are stylish.

In this movie, many parody scenes are seen such as “the seventh seal” by Ingmar Bergman, and also (500) Days of summer is parodied by some movies.

As he was a director of music video, the music used in the movie is really good and matched with the story, and some scenes are taken music video like. For example, in a long shoot, the characters are dancing with music. This is not a music video or musical, but he knows the effective use of music. To promote the movie, he also created a music video using some shoots from the movie, titled “The Bank Heist”.
