What is ‘Film Tourism’ ? ⑴

In Western Norway, especially the Geirangerfjord area, the number of tourists has been rapidly increasing over the course of five years, because of the film Frozen which featured landscapes inspired by beautiful Norwegian scenery. According to the article, in 2016, 100,000 hikers visited the scenic cliff of Trolltunga although there were only 1,000 hikers five years ago . However locals actually concern about some problems caused by tourists. Despite a population in Geiranger of 200, there are 700,000 tourists per year. The article explain that this big surge actually poses a threats to the environment, such as local waste disposal, parking and public restrooms. Locals are also plagued by the issues of erosion along paths and trails leading to frequented beaches.
