PLOT

Will Thacker (Hugh Grant) owns a travel book store and shares a flat with his weird friend Spike in Notting Hill. One day a hollywood actress Anna Scott (Julia Roberts) suddenly comes into his book shop and they have a short conversation. A few moments later when he went outside to buy some orange juice, he bumps into her and spills juice on her. Thats when he ask her if she wants to clean up in his house which is just around the corner.

Anna contacts him, and they get to see each other again, and start falling in love with each other. Although since they live in a completely different world, they experience many difficulties and their hearts grow apart…

INTERESTING POINTS

In London, there is a station called Notting Hill gate and if you go down that road, you will arrive to the Portobello Market. This market has lots of shops and restaurants and some interesting street food, like Paella, crepes and so on. The place of Will’s workplace, is renovated as “The Notting Hill Book Shop” and is now a famous tourist spot. It used to be a travel bookshop just like in the film, although they changed it to an ordinary book shop.

You can also find the place, where will and Anna bump into each other and Will spills orange juice on Anna. It is now a coffee place but still you can imagine how the movie was shot in this spot.

COMMENTS

Julia Roberts is just so so pretty in this film! Her character and how she looks like she has something deep inside her eyes. Also Will’s friends and family are so funny and sweet, which I think they share a lot of British Humor as well.

The last scene at the press conference is just so nice, and just makes you smile:)
