Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe won a new mandate by winning in Sunday’s election The winner Abe said the Japanese voters returned him to power since they wonted him to recover the economy through his economic policies. He also said the result showed the Japanese pubLic’s confidence in his two years in charge.

Generally speaking, this result may well cheer up him. But it is different in detail. For example, the rate of voter who turn out was 52% and this is the lowest of any postwar election. So this only shows that Japanese is not satisfied with Abe’s performance and policies.

I think the lower rate of voter, especially young people, is big problem of Japanese politics. I often heared young people said that it is useless to go election because my vote can’t have much ppower to effect the nation. Ithink this is pretty wrong opinion because of two reasons, the government would only do policies for elderly peoplesuch as increasing the pension. Today, young people struggle by low salary and less employment. If young people want to improvee their life, they should go election. Second, there will be possibility for Japanese government to run out of control if we neglect to keep watch by voting. I think Abe’s government little runs out of control. For instance, he enforce to push for the right to collective self-defense. I’m afraid of going to warfield all too soon because of our less vote rates.

So, let’s go to the election!

I agree with your opinion that young people should go to am election. Currently, a lot of young people complain about the government and the society in spite of going an election. In my opinion, however, they have no rights to complain about their society if they don’t vote. It is necessary for young people to have consciousness of being a member of Japanese society.
