Alfred Wegener was a German polar researcher, meteorologist, and a geophysicist. He was well known as meteorology in the past, but nowadays he is most known as the person for advancing the theory of ”continetal drift.”
He hypothesized that the contents were slowly moving around the earth, and first thought of this by noticing that the different large landmasses of the Earth almost fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. The continental shelf of the Americas fit closely to Europe and Africa, and Antarctica, Australia, India and Madagascar fit next to the tip of Southern Africa.
Many geologists didn’t believe his theory because Wegner did not have a good explanation, but he found out that the cotinents moved through the ocean floor. Geologists thought that the continents could not move because the ocean floor was very thick and strong but that was wrong.Wegner’s theory still remains as an interesting topic in this century.
I thought people like Alfred Wegner has talent which ordinary people don’t have. This could be said to other famous people like a soccer player, or movie stars. In this world, there are thousands of people but they are all different in their own ways. I thought that is interesting and people might have  talent in something they still don’t even know by themselve’s.
