Tiger mom is a mother who is strict to her child.

They are highly concerned about their children’s behavior and performance, and have atendency to lash out violently when children do less than they expect. These parents, as seen in the video, are reportedly more common among Asians, especially Chinese, who are more interested in their children’s test scores. These parents sometimes have a negative influence on their children because of their strictness. However, this method of education can have a positive effect on children by preventing them from being lazy and by clearly showing them the ideal form of a human being.

This method of education is often controversial, with a clear divide between those who consider it good and those who consider it bad. Some proponents say that they received such an education as children and that it helped them. Some opponents say that such an education had a negative effect on them as children. In other words, the Tiger mom approach to education can be good or bad, depending on factors such as the child receiving it and the environment surrounding the child at the time.

I am against this way of raising children. Because it is too risky. Certainly, as some examples show, strict discipline can work, and the child can become a good, self-controlled adult. However, if it fails and the discipline becomes terribly constricting for the child, the child may develop PTSD or become delinquent as a reaction to having been repressed. Thus, I oppose this method of education because of the tremendous risk and stress it places on the child if it fails.
