Today, speaking of media, most people focus on social media such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. However, I would like to write about newspaper in this journal, which is compared to social media as one type of traditional media.

 In my opinion, newspaper is superior to social media at some points. One of them is its credibility. As for social media, anyone can write articles and post them easily. Therefore, there may be a huge amount of misinformation on social media. On the other hand, newspapers are more reliable because they are written based on detailed coverages. The second reason is that we can use the articles for other things except for reading. For example, if the articles are related to essay’s topic, we can cite them as introductions or case studies in the essay.

 However, we need to keep one thing in our mind about not only newspapers, but also any kinds of articles. It is any articles include reporters’ or editors’ opinions or intentions. Even if they are not intentional, some parts of the events are cut off on the articles because of word counts. Thus, we should understand that articles do not always tell us all of details about the events or incidents.
