This movie describes one ordinary christian family with four daughters.  The most unique point in this movie is that all of the origin of their husbands are different from orthodox French.  They are Arab, Jewish, Chinese and a black person from Côte d’Ivoire.  The appointment of these people reminds audiences of French situation as a multinational nation.  Because the father is Gaullism, his attitude towards them is bad, for example, abusing them strongly at the lunch time with all of the family members.  His view is a little bitter, but the use of such words is taken for granted for him and propably we also have these prejudice if we were him.  Not only the father of this family, but also the father of the fourth husband has critical view against French people.  He has opposed his son’s marriage with French woman since the stage of his engagement because France used to enforce African Policy in Côte d’Ivoire.  The complex situation of France is captured by the feature of characters.  Finally, these fathers settled their differences by finding to have same thoughts underlying with each other.  The description that these stubborn characters shifted their views towards adversaries shows audiences the possibility that the conflict over the race can be overcome if we spend plenty of time talking things over.
