This is a documentary film about Iris Apfel produced by veteran American documentarian Albert Maysles.

It premiered at the New York Film Festival in October 2014.

And she was also featured in a documentary television film “If You’re Not In the Obit, Eat Breakfast” which premiered in 2017.

 

She is 94 years old, and has a big influence as famous fashion icon in New York. She is not just fashionable, but succeed as an interior designer, and businesswoman. She is 94 years old, but her sensitivity is still brand-new.

The message of this movie is “success is a sacrifice.” She talks about her successful career. And she says that she realized that she couldn’t be successful.

 

The shots are taken naturally, so we can see her charming character. Both she and people around her look very lively and enjoying life.

And vivid colors used as her fashion are taken vividly and so eye-catching. A shot that she is just talking, the wall behind her is colorful flower.

 

We learn more about the fashion industry through this movie. But if you are not interested in fashion, you can get the power from her. She continues to inspire others.
