The original title of this movie is “Locke”, it is the name of the main character of the movie, but the Japanese title is “On the Highway –the night : 86minutes”. I think that the original one is better, because the Japanese one is too much explanation.

This movie is a story about a man loses everything he loves such as family and job just in 86 minutes. The character in this movie is only a man: Locke. Whole of this movie, he’s driving his car alone. And almost all of the shots are in a car from fixed camera inside and outside the car. So the story goes with his conversations. As he drives, many big problems happened, he makes many phone calls to deal with, but nothing goes well.

The story was not interesting or exciting for me. However, I couldn’t keep my eyes off his acting.Many long shots zoomed up to his face are used, I saw his emotional movement.And because the clock measuring time, I felt like it happens real time.

The darkness emphasizes his loneliness. When you watch this movie, you should turn off the light of the room.
