Same sex marriage

Hello, I’m sena. I’m gonna talk about same sex marriage. I disagree with it. I think same sex marriage should not be legal in Japan. I have three reasons.

First, the family is extinct. They cannot produce children. There is possibility that one of them can do it in ways like donor insemination, but other cannot have blood relation to the children. If so, family line of the person is losing. Also, if same sex couples get married, the family name of one of them cannot be taken from.

Second, children adopted by same sex parents can be discriminated. There is a bias against same sex marriage in Japan. People in Japan show an indifferent attitude about same sex marriage even though it draws increasing attention in other countries. For example, if children with same sex parents go to kindergarten and elementary school, children can recognize the differences from others. Generally, children have mother and father, but they have two mothers or two fathers. This difference inspires children to discriminate in an unconscious way.

Third, it is difficult to revise the constitution of Japan. According to the Article 24 of the Japanese Constitution, unrevised since 1947, it is mandated that marriage shall be based on the mutual consent of both sexes. If Japanese government revises this, other marriage like bigamous and consanguineous marriage can be accepted.

For these reasons, I believe that same sex marriage should not legalize in Japan.
