A Famous stationary maker, Showa note Takaoka city in Toyama ,sells Japonica learner’s notebooks. All of this were made at head office and sold about 50 varieties which vary each subject and grade. The feature of these notebooks is pictures which make the cover. After 1978, that pictures taken by Susumu Yamaguti who is a photographer. However, picutures of insect hadn’t been used since 2012.The reason why insert hadn’t been used as cover was customer’s opinions. Some parents said ” My daughter says she doesn’t have her notebook because she doesn’t like insert’s picture.” Not only parents but also teachers said complains. “I can’t close a notebook when I use it in a class.” I didn’t hear these opinions when I was an elementary school student and didn’t care pictures on notebooks.

Relating to this problem, some people said there are many opportunity when children use notebooks. Teachers also see it, so they decided to stop using insect picture on a cover if  there is the person whom even one hates it. However, others oppose it and feel sadness.

It is difficult judgement for maker whether they use these pictures on a cover or not.
