In Japan, a survey of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, MEXT shows that over 20% of the students who dropped out of schools say that financial difficulties are reasons for it. 1163 schools out of 1191 schools in Japan, universities, junior colleges and higher professional schools answered the survey. MEXT analyzed that the number of parents who can afford to pay tuition fee is decreasing because of economic stagnation and income gap. More student dropped out in 2013 than in 2007, the previous survey. The number of tuition deliquents is over ten thousand.
I think that some supports must be prepared more. For example, scholarship of non-interest-bearing and flexible scholarship.
