Pen and Books is the Most Powerful Weapons

Last Wednesday, I watched a deeply moved video in my religious class.

That was a speech which insists that every children and women should be provided opportunities to be educated. It was given by Malalah Yosafzay when she was only 17 years old at the headquarters of United Nations in 2013.

Malalah Yosafzay was born in Pakistan on July 12th 1997. She went to school and dreamed to be a doctor. However, since 2007, the Pakistan Taliban movement has occurred and the government was come into power. They started a reign of terror and especially women was rubbed rights for education. Residents was always feared to be aimed their lives. In 2012, she was shot by a member of the Taliban while she was in way to home from school by bus and two her friends were also shot in front of her. It was her 14 years.

Through these awful experiences, she has done a lot of movement to resist the Taliban, and got some awards. She addressed at the head quarters of United Nation on July 12th 2013. She claimed, “We’ll realize the importance for light when we see darkness. I realized the importance for pen and books when I saw guns.” “Extremists are afraid of the power of education.” “They will not stop me. I’ll get my education if it is in home , school, or any places.” “One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world.
