Do you know the globalization strategy of Rikkyo university? It’s named “Rikkyo Global 24.” The number “24” is the last two digits of 2024, when the university will have reached the 150th year since its foundation. They develop some plans for the 150th year, and one of them is this “Rikkyo Global 24.”

This project has 4 goals until 2024. The fist one is the dispatch more students to foreign countries. They try to let all of the students go abroad in 10 years. The second one is accepting more overseas students. The aimed number of overseas students is 2000. The third one is providing the ground for education and research. Making 200 partner universities in 10 years is their goal. At last they would like to raise the rate of overseas professors to 20%.

As a part of this project, they decide to set up the four-semester system in a few years. It is said that this make japanese students going abroad and overseas students coming to Japan easier. How will this project work? and How will this effect the globalization of this university(or Japanese universities)?
