価値とはなんだろう?スパイスファクトリーで働く中で考えた経済的な営みと労働について|スパイスファクトリー株式会社The way of people’s evaluating and looking at things changes every time. It is interesting that the same thing can be valued differently depending on many factors such as the observer, place, and time. For example, the fat part of tuna, otoro, is very expensive in sushi restaurants because people like its softness. However, in the Edo period when sushi was invented and established, otoro was always thrown away because people at that time thought the fat part is not good taste and texture to eat. Also, I personally have no idea why many people like beer and wine. To me, these alcoholic drinks just taste bitter, and I do not think they are tasty. This episode shows that value is always changing and every person has their own value measure. The only thing you can rely on is your own thoughts based on your knowledge and personal experience. It is entirely up to you whether the thing is worthwhile or not. So it is important to make your own decisions and not to believe everything you hear or see.

I learned this idea in a class. I shared this idea because it is such an important lesson for everyone.
