“Homosexual is a pathetic little second-rate substitute for reality, a pitiable flight from life.”
It is from time magazine in 1969. This year, same-sex marriage has been legalized in 28 countries, including the United States. People fighting for same-sex marriage rights around the world have seen global support increase in recent years. Taiwan also made history last month, becoming the first government in Asia to welcome legislation on marriage equality. Especially among Asian countries that value conservative and cultural traditions, the legalization of same-sex marriage will have a positive effect on other Asian countries.

First, marriage is not just about reproduction. In essence, the roles of women and men are formed in the process of socialization and are not necessarily closely related to the distinction between biological women and men. Therefore, the role of same-sex couples and the diversity of gender identities should be respected as they are.
The second is for religious reasons. The Bible says that homosexuality is a sin against God’s will. Being gay was a sin in itself for years. However, whether Christians with homosexual acts or not sexual autonomy is a human’s right. Religion is changing as the time is changing. So we need to change our religious perception of same-sex issues. All I have learned in Christianity is that all God wants us to do is just love, faith, and forgiveness, not to hate certain people.

I also think It is very strange that limiting their rights by law. There is a lot of discrimination in the world. Looking back upon history, we have tried to overcome many discriminations, and we overcame it. Human has abolished the slave class, guaranteed women’s suffrage, given all citizens the right to vote, and is striving in many ways to reduce the wage gap between men and women. we are also trying to give them equal opportunities beyond religion or nationality. We have an obligation to create and strengthen an equal society for future generations.
