196untill 20 years old!!!!!

There is much argument concerning the age which becomes an “adult”.An English language newspaper, the Liberal Democratic Party has put together recommendations to lower the age of majority set at 20 under the Civil Code to 18.The reason is that voting age has been lowered to 18,so the Liberal Democratic Party thought the age of voting right should be corresponded to the age of the obligation to take responsibilities. However,  the Liberal Democratic Party has put off a decaision on whether to lower the legal age for drinking and smoking.According to the Health,Labor and Welfare,if smoking starts early in adolescence, it increases the risk of lung cancer and heart disease.  The Japan Medical Association warns that habitual smoking by those aged less than 20 poorly affects brain growth and leads to early onset of dementia and other diseases. In addition, student guidance at high school would become confused if students aged 18, who are allowed to drink and smoke, and those aged 17 attended the same school.

In my opinion, the adult age shouln’t lower to 18 when drinking and smoking are considered. They are not only bad for our health, but also bad for Japanese fisical conditions. For Japan which aging is rapidly developed, how to rein in social security expenses is a huge challenge.

Above these reasons I stated here, I opposed to revise the adult age.
