On October 9, this year’s Nobel prize winner for literature was announced. This time, Patrick Modiano, an auther living in France, was award this prize. Patrick Modiano is one of the greatest auther in French history of literature. He has written a lot of novels which is about identity and misterious. Because of his literacy style, a lot of people have been completely absorbed in his novels. In France, such people are called Modiano addicts. Many critics in the world celebrated him for this prize.

On the othert hand, many Japanese people were discouraged by this year’s Nobel literature prize, because they had expected Haruki Murakami to win this prize. Haruki Murakami is the most influential auther in Japan. His novels have been published all over the world. He have been chosed as a candidate for the Nobel prize every year, but he has been missing the prize. A lot of Japanese love him, so they pray that he is award the prize.

If a Japanese win the Nobel prize, he or she will make all Japanese people happy. The reason is that they are proud of themselves as a same Japanese. In short, The Nobel prize always make people in each countries happy or sad. It’s intereting. The prize express their identity. I think it is one of the reasons that the Nobel prize has a big dignity.

Incidentally, I like Haruki Murakami’s novels and essays, so I want him to win the prize next year.
