One of my favorite movies is called Masquerade Hotel.

“Masquerade Hotel” by Keigo Higashino is a mystery novel about a detective, Kosuke Nitta, who goes undercover at Hotel Cortesia Tokyo to solve a series of murders. The police believe the hotel will be the next crime scene, so Nitta poses as a front desk clerk. He works with hotel receptionist Naomi Yamagishi, and while they initially clash due to different perspectives, they eventually build trust. Together, they try to identify the suspect among the guests. The story combines the suspense of a murder investigation with detailed insights into the hospitality world, highlighting the evolving relationship between the detective and the hotel staff.

One of the things I love about this film is that it gives you an insight into the wonderful people who work at the hotel. Usually when we use hotels we don’t get to know how hard the employees really work. However, in this movie, we see them dealing with troublesome guests, fulfilling difficult requests from guests, and being flexible in dealing with difficulties. This movie is a mystery film, but I was more impressed by the way this hotelier worked than by the way he solved the case.
