Disney-Pixar has produced many stories as movies. Which of them is your favorite? My favorite is “Coco (Remember Me),” released in 2018. The film takes place in the “Land of the Dead,” a unique and colorful festival. It tells the story of the Day of the Dead, a traditional Mexican festival, and is about family ties that transcend time and generations. With vivid colors and wonderful music, this film is a feast for the eyes and ears. Spanish words such as “amigo” and “hora” appear in the film, and Mexican culture and customs are interspersed throughout. The main character is Miguel, a guitar player who dreams of becoming a musician, even though his family forbids him to play music. One day, he wanders into the beautiful and colorful “Land of the Dead,” where skeletons live happily ever after. If he does not return by sunrise, Miguel’s body will disappear. His only hope is Hector, a cheerful and lonely skeleton. But even he has a destiny to fulfill.” If he is forgotten by his “living family,” he will disappear from the land of the dead.
I was surprised by the unexpected ending and moved by the strong family ties. The preciousness of thinking of loved ones and the love between Miguel and his family brought tears to my eyes. Furthermore, what I would like to draw your attention to in this film is the “song. The main character, Miguel, is played by Anthony Gonzalez in the original story and by Hiiro Ishibashi in the Japanese version. They both have very nice voices and I was fascinated by their clear and smooth singing. I love his singing voice, so please listen to it.
