The Intouchables

Hi, this is Ayaka Kobayashi. I would like to introduce you “Intouchables” as my third movie review today. Intouchables is a French comedy drama movie which was published in 2011. N Intouchables means “untouchable” in English.

This is a story of two men; Philippe, who is wealthy but cannot move his body because of spinal cord injury, and Driss, who is a poor black man living in the slum area. One day, Driss came to Philippe’s house to have an interview, he does not seem to work hard but Philippe decides to hire him. At first, they have many troubles because of differences of culture, thought and desire. However, Philippe become to open his mind to Driss, who treat him as one person, not a handicapped person.

I think the flow of this film is interesting. At the start of this movie, the scene Philippe and Driss is driving a car so fast is shown to us. Actually, this scene is not the first scene when we think it from the perspective of time and after that, this movie starts with the scene when they meet for the first time. Generally, movies are made following the chronical order, but this movie shows the scene of the last part in the very start of this movie. Through this technical, this movie succeeds to attract people and make people want to watch it more in the opening. In addition, we can know the truth or secret of the first scene while watching the movie. It means it is easy for audiences to get the satisfaction and also easy for the movie to get the good evaluation. Undoubtedly, it is a good way to make people pay attention to the movie.

This film is based on a real story. Conceivably, you can feel real satisfaction and touch a real heartwarming story. Also, Driss’s jokes are simply funny and you will laugh in front of the screen. I recommend it to you if you are down.
