The Nazca figures is one of the most famous sites in the world. It was placed on the World Heritage List in 1994. The search of the Nazca figures started in 1939 by an arhaeologist of US, and continues to be carried out even now.
On May. 8, 2014 the Nazca research institute in Yamagata university announced they found some new figures on the northeast area of Nazca. There are at least 17 drawings of llama(the right picture), maybe drawn in 400~200 BC. It is said these drawings of llama are older than the really famous drawings of a saberwing(the left picture). Llama is considerd to be a domestic animal since that age.
This research will be continued, and the studies of Nazca culture will progress more and more.
